Lodging
There are two hotels of comparable prices (€70-90 a night):
- Villa Altieri is 700 m = 0.4 miles (5-7 minutes) to the meeting venue.
- Villa Aricia is 1 km = 0.6 miles (15-20 minutes) to the venue.
The “Albano Laziale” railway station is roughly equidistant from the two hotels, see map below:
Villa Altieri reservations
Villa Altieri is reserving all their rooms for us on the nights of 3 and 4 October, but only until 15 May.
Use the email info@villaaltieri.it mentioning that you are with the Specola Vaticana group. Once you confirm that the quoted rate, you will receive another email with a link to go pay from pay.sumup.com. We believe you only pay for the first night in advance.
The rooms rates at Villa Altieri are as follows:
- 2 singole, i.e., two rooms for one guest
- 10 doppie, i.e., ten rooms for two guests
- 13 triple di cui 6 molto grandi (possiamo farle anche quadruple), i.e., 13 rooms for three guests, including 6 very large rooms which could accommodate four guests if requested.
Questionnaire
Please indicate your plans by email to: mshetrone@ucolick.org and p.gabor@jesuits.net.
- Please inform us whether you will be coming and how many in your party (a significant other and/or additional guests).
- Please let us know about any significant food allergies or dietary restrictions for which we will try to accommodate.
- You will want to start planning your trip beyond the meeting. Perhaps you will arrive in Italy a few days before the meeting, perhaps you will leave a few days after the meeting. In any case, you might want to visit astronomical and other sites. Your significant others and/or other guests might want to do something interesting while you are in the meeting. While the organizers of the meeting cannot organize these activities for you, they can help. For instance, if you would like to visit the two sites of the Observatory of Rome (Monte Mario and/or Monte Porzio Catone), it would be good to put you in touch with the other interested participants and with the Director of the Observatory of Rome. A list of suggestions is available in the meeting's public page. Please let us know about your plans and interests.
