Organization

The Alliance was conceived in 2015, became organized in 2019, and established bylaws in 2023. AHO governance and operations structures are set forth in the organization's bylaws.

The Board (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Past President and up to ten Delegates) leads the overall conduct of Alliance business. Members and Alliance affiliates have wide latitude to engage in bilateral and multilateral partnerships and joint projects as they deem appropriate. The Board provides governance oversight for the AHO, and holds significant decision-making authority for the Alliance on matters such as membership constructs and decisions.

Topical committees (e.g. Membership Committee) are established by Board action, and are charged with advising the Board in selected matters of Alliance business.

Finally General Assembly meetings are held to conduct Alliance business and select Board officers and members.
